The Medical Dots

Hello and welcome; I'm pleased to see that you're here!
 
I’m Dr. Lydiah Fridah Mpyisi, a family medicine resident physician, researcher, health educator, officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, and founder of The Medical Dots. Those titles tell you what I do, but my story and mission began long before I wore a white coat.
 
When I was growing up in Nairobi, Kenya, my parents established a safe environment for women who had HIV, since at that time fear and a lack of accurate information usually had more influence than compassion. They taught me that knowledge can overcome fear, restore dignity, and give people the power to take control of their own health. This lesson is why I have become the doctor and educator I am today.
 
As a family medicine doctor, I have the opportunity to care for people of all ages and life stages. I combine medicine, research, and storytelling to make health information clear, practical, and relevant to you. The aspects of whole-person health I address range from prevention and general well-being to chronic illness, mental health, women's health, and skin health, which will always be especially important to me.
 
I developed The Medical Dots because you deserve more than just medical instructions; you should have the opportunity to understand the reason behind them. Each article, video, and conversation is a way to encourage you to become curious, ask better questions, and become a confident advocate for your own health.
